Spirits and Elementals Empty

Here you can read about different kinds of creatures that kind of are, but still kind of aren't of the mortal world in Naradun. Surprised

Dryads

Dryads are spirits of nature who appear in the form of shapely bark-colored women with long, flowy grass-like hair. They are mostly found in deep woods and forest clearings where they like to prance about and play with the different animals that live there. Though not cruel, they are quite mischievous, delighting in stealing from adventurers only to hide their stolen goods in the dens of beasts or at the top of tall trees, leaving clues to said belongings' whereabouts here and there. They are good-natured and kind when they choose to approach people (which only rarely happens) but they only appear briefly on most occasions, shy and energic as they are.

Dryads have the ability to run straight through any forms of vegetation, making them insanely hard to follow if they do not wish to be. They leave no tracks, though one can clearly see their feet hit the ground as they run (more often prance). They possess many spell-like abilities which may heal a weary needy friend of nature, or harm those who wish for harm to befall the forests. When angered, a dryad will in most cases run in circles around its victim, the trees around her providing her with cover while she unleashes her spells upon her foe. Dryads are squeamish though, and will rather retreat than fighting openly. They are quite nimble, but frail, so a well-placed shot, strike or spell may easily incapacitate a careless dryad.

Dryads are found on all continents, and their appearance match the areas which they live in. A dryad living in a dark forest with grey trees will have grey skin and dark hair, while a dryad living in a sunny glade of birch will have white and black skin with lush-looking light green hair.

Earthborn

The earthborn are spirits of earth, looking like large piles of mud, dirt or rock with vaguely humanoid features. They are quite bulky, and vary greatly in size ranging from gremlin-sized to the size of a house. Earthborn are often looked upon as guardians of nature, and that is their most likely purpose. Earthborn have the ability to travel through any earth, rock or mud terrain like they were swimming through water with great speed.

Earthborn only rarely show themselves, and when they do, they are quite agressive. They mostly appear whenever a great change has appeared in an environment, like deforestation or flooding. Earthborn strike their foes with their arm-like appendages, prefering to smash their foes into the dirt, and, if possible, drag them down under said dirt, making them suffocate.
